The well-known cross-country skiing runs Monte Pana, Vallunga and Alpe di Siusi offer perfectly groomed trails of different levels of difficulty.

Also cross-country skiing presents a welcome alternative to escape the everyday stress. This sport is recommendable not only to keep oneself fit but also to spend some carefree hours outdoors. The Val Gardena offers three different cross-country ski centres. The center Vallunga in Selva with 12 km of cross-country courses is located in the natural park Puez-Odle and it's a true highlight especially because of the gorgeous snowy landscape. The second center is located on the high plateau of Monte Pana in S. Cristina. This one is often seen as a real challenge even for professional cross-country skiers. The third and largest center is located on Alpe di Siusi, the largest high plateau in Europe, and it is famous for its extraordinary view on the mountain scenery of the Dolomites as well as for its 60 kilometers of route.
